Benjamin R. Newland

Benjamin R. Newland founded Newland Ventures in 2017 to provide international investors with access to carefully screened and selected US and European investment opportunities.  Since 2019 Newland Ventures has also been offering directorship services, strategic advice, transaction management and “outside general counsel” services to investors and operating companies in the U.S., Europe and Asia.

Benjamin has served as a trusted adviser to his investor clients for 20 years. Before founding Newland Ventures, Benjamin was a partner in the New York and Dubai offices of the "Global 50" law firm of King & Spalding LLP, and an associate at the international law firm of Cleary, Gottlieb, Steen & Hamilton.  His entrepreneurial experience includes co-founding and serving in various business capacities at Active.com, the leading provider of sports event registration and information, which subsequently listed on the NYSE and was then taken private by Vista Equity Partners for US$ 1 billion.  Benjamin currently serves as executive chairman of Nightjar Coffee Limited, a premium coffee roaster with a chain of coffeeshops in the United Arab Emirates.

Benjamin earned a JD from the University of Chicago Law School, and his BA from Columbia University where he graduated summa cum laude and was elected to Phi Beta Kappa.  He is proficient in Spanish.
